Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We are thrilled that you chose to go on safari with us! Now is when all the planning pays off, and your safari dreams begin to come true. You will meet our team who will explain what happens next and answer any questions you might have. Then, all that is left to do is go and start this safari trip of a lifetime together!

The time you spend in Lake Nakuru National Park will surely be memorable. The park is most famous (and rightly so) for how easy it is to see black and white rhinos, as well as the populations of lions (including some that, unusually, like to climb trees) and endangered Rothschild's giraffes. You can also see flamingos, leopards, and plenty of birds. You will fall in love with the combination of lake, acacia forest, and dramatic escarpment.

Come and see the best of Masai Mara National Reserve as we take you out on a guided game drive. It really is a terrific way to feel part of Africa with the wind in your hair as we drive you around to look for animals.

You will love the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the best places to watch wildlife anywhere in Kenya. You are almost guaranteed to see plenty of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas. With so many impalas, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and other prey species here, as well as over 500 bird species, you will see plenty of safari action. Also, elephants, giraffes, and hippos are everywhere, and everyone who visits falls in love with Masai Mara's classic safari landscapes.

Stay deep in the Masai Mara National Reserve at Mara Sopa Lodge, surrounded by trees overlooking a bend in the Mara River. You can often see hippos and crocodiles below the camp. The wood-floored safari tents are luxurious, and everything here is excellent, from the service and the restaurant to the bar, swimming pool, and spa center.

There is no better way to see and experience the Masai Mara than on one of our guided game drives. You will love seeing the Mara's iconic animals and landscapes!

Transfer by road from Masai Mara Sopa Lodge to Isebania border post, Tanzania. Pick up from the border and travel to Serengeti National Park. If you are here during the migration, you will see the incredible wildlife populations of the Northern Serengeti. If you are here at other times, wildlife is still easy to see, and very few people are around. And whatever time of year you are here, you will enjoy beautiful scenery with rocky outcrops and the Mara River flowing by.

Depart from Northern Serengeti and travel to Central Serengeti. When people dream of the Serengeti, they probably dream of the Central Serengeti. That is because the central part of the Serengeti, the Seronera area, is a spectacular destination for wildlife sightings. This area is home to enormous numbers of wildlife. The area is filled with acacia trees and those Serengeti horizons that seem to go on forever.

During the guided afternoon game drive, expect many wildlife sightings (including elephants and big cats). There is no better place to go looking for animals; your guide will help make this a memorable excursion.

This morning, we will travel to the next stage of your safari and enjoy a magical game drive to our next destination.

You will learn why magical Ngorongoro is unlike anywhere else in Africa. Cloud forests encircle the crater rim, and the view out across the caldera of this former volcano—quite apart from the altitude—will leave you gasping for air. Your drive down a steep trail carries you onto the crater floor, where a unique wildlife offering adds to the sheer beauty of the experience. You will share the sunken ecosystem on the crater floor with hyenas, lions, elephants, black rhinos, and hippos. An ecosystem formed in the crater in the millennia since the volcano wrought terrible fury upon the land. Today might just be one of your best safari days ever!

As you join us for a guided game drive through Tarangire National Park early this morning, you will almost surely see elephants and possibly even lions.

Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants, and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favorite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys, and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations, so lions are plentiful here. While you will have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery—savannah plains, river woodlands, and rocky hills.

Later in the afternoon, we will drive to Arusha for overnight to shorten the distance to Amboseli the next day.

Morning breakfast at the hotel in Arusha, then departure for Amboseli National Park. Your driver guide will transfer you to the border of Namanga (2 hours drive) for immigration formalities and switching vehicles and guides.

After the exchange of vehicles and guides, you will be picked up by our Kenyan driver guide and proceed with the drive to Amboseli National Park with a packed lunch. Afternoon game drive till late hours. Dinner and overnight in Amboseli National Park.

Morning game drive in Amboseli to explore the beautiful and scenic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Proceed with the game drive until lunchtime before starting your last journey to Nairobi or the Airport for your international departure.
